Creative Allied Project
(for young researchers)
01 Program Overview

1) Purpose
- To create excellent performance outcomes by supporting challenging and innovative convergence research centered on young researchers.
- To nurture researchers to the level of global leaders.

2) Supported Areas
- All fields of science and technology, including new convergence technology areas requiring collaboration between GRIs, and research areas aimed at solving social problems.

3) Details of Support
- R&D project funding support (up to KRW 1 billion per project per year).
- A total of 6 projects are scheduled to be selected and each project receives support for a period of up to 5 years.
- All funding is executed and managed through the lead research institution.
02 Program Structure

1) Eligibility for Program
- Projects centered on young researchers (researchers within 15 years of obtaining a Ph.D. degree).
- Research projects involving two or more GRIs under the NST.
- More than 70% of the total principal investigator and participating researchers from GRIs must be young researchers.

2) Types and Supporting Period
- Type: Young Researcher 'Creative Allied Project' (Challenge and Innovation Type)
- Supporting Period: Support for up to 5 years per project
- Details: R&D expense support (personnel expenses, materials, equipment costs, etc.)
03 Support System and Infrastructure

1) Selection Criteria
- Comprehensive evaluation of research necessity, challenge and innovation of the research topic, appropriateness of research goals, appropriateness and originality of research methods, and excellence of expected outcomes.

2) Application Period
- Call for proposals scheduled for March 2026.

3) Managing Institutions
- Jointly managed by the National Research Council of Science & Technology (NST) and participating GRIs.
