01 Program Overview

1) Purpose
- To cultivate future leaders in national S&T by enabling young researchers to gain independent research experience within the advanced infrastructure of GRIs.
- To nurture core S&T talent by offering young researchers access to GRI infrastructure for independent research opportunities.

2) Supported Areas
- All fields of science and engineering based on the research demands of each GRIs(Including overseas Koreans and foreigners).

3) Details of Support
- Human Resources Cost KRW 90 Million/Year, Research Funding KRW 100 Million/Year, Overseas Training KRW 30 Million, Other Support(Contests, exchange events, education, national scholarships, etc.)
02 Program Structure

1) Eligibility for BP Program
- Ph.D. holders (including prospective degree holders) in science and engineering from domestic or international institutions, within 5 years of obtaining their degree.

2) Types and Supporting Period
- Type: Recruitment is conducted separately by each GRIs based on their research fields and demands.
- Supporting Period: Up to 3 years.
03 Support System and Infrastructure

1) Research Infrastructure
- Access to advanced research facilities and equipment unique to each GRIs.

2) Mentoring
- Mentoring from senior/principal researchers within the GRIs to transfer research know-how and support career development.

3) Research Ecosystem
- Field-oriented R&D training to seek opportunities for future permanent researcher positions or industry entry.
