Culture of Science and Technology
Based on our Mission Statement, “Make the leap and take the lead to be science-driven, people-centered, and trustworthy institute,” our goal is:
- ① to take the lead in culture of Science & Technology through active public engagement
- ② to foster multi-talented leaders who would take the lead in the Fourth Industrial Revolution
- ③ to reinforce science, mathematics, and SW·AI Education in response to the Age of Intelligent Information
- In order to take the lead and spread the culture of Science & Technology, we support and cooperate with other S&T related organizations in order to maximize the cultural impact. Also, we annually hold science fairs and exhibitions for the public to engage in S&T culture. Through science fairs and exhibitions, we publicize new scientific achievements so that the public could benefit from the new discoveries. For instance, we successfully hosted the first Korean Urban Science Festival in 2019. In 2020, we held our first online Korea Science & Technology Fair and opened up a new chapter for science festivals.
- Through the use of social media, we try to bridge the gap between scientists and the public. We hosted various concerts and performances under the theme of S&T and science busking. Also, to become a better communication channel between S&T experts and the public, we aim to educate the public when there are new scientific discoveries.
- To lay the foundation of S&T culture, we construct business models that can effectively commercialize Convergence Science in pop cultures and leisure industry.
- Furthermore, we run inclusive S&T culture programs to overcome social inequality by providing equal opportunity for all social classes to participate in S&T events. We promote various S&T-culture-related activities in local communities and encourage the participation of private science clubs. We run local S&T centers and designate S&T cities which can create more jobs and revitalize local economies.
